You could call us a systems developer, a solutions provider, or even a textbook distributor, but we like to think of ourselves as a partner to the independent college retailer.

See, we think that there is a greater advantage to a college campus, and to the community, by keeping the college bookstore independently run. The College bookstore is a fixture on campuses in an era when the retail marketplace is the most complex. It is common these days for a school to perceive that the marketplace is, in fact, so complex that having an outside company come in to run the store is the only financially viable option. However, here at NBC we know better. We know that independents, when operating to their fullest potential, are actually more profitable than leased stores.

Textbook selection and availability, state-of-the-art eCommerce tools and time saving back-office software are all within our wheelhouse. 100 years in business is a long time, and we have changed tremendously as a company since then, constantly adapting as the marketplace changes.

We’d like to talk to you about where we are going, and what we can do to help you drive business back to the independent bookstore.
